Next Laois Archery Shoot

Sunday 24th of August
SOSAD Charity Shoot (1×56, 3Ds)
Alright lads and lasses, you know we love a good charity shoot, so we’re throwing another one, this time in aid of SOSAD Laois.
SOSAD (Save Our Sons And Daughters) was founded in 2007 to offer vital services across Ireland to people at risk of suicide and those who have been affected by it. These services include counselling, a 24/7 crisis hotline, and drop-in centres which serve to combat loneliness and isolation directly. SOSAD, like so many charitable organisations, relies almost entirely on donations to keep the doors open and provide the appropriate training and support to their volunteers – so we’re going to do our little bit to help.
We’re going to get as much use as possible out of our 3Ds by holding a 56 target one arrow round – non-record, of course. Target distances will be unmarked, and range anywhere from 15ft to 100yds (fun shoot ≠ easy shoot), but you can use a rangefinder if you think it might help. We’re not going to do a bow check – we don’t mind if you want to shoot carbon arrows off your historical bow for this one.
We’ll also be holding a raffle – just to make sure we can raise as much as possible for what we’re sure you’ll agree is a really good cause. If you have anything you’d like to donate, we’ll happily raffle it off, be it archery related or no!
There’s a pre-registration link below, and if possible it would be great of you to use that so we can get a head start with groups and splitting, but make sure to still head up to the cabin to check in when you arrive – it lets us know you’re actually there, so we don’t have to make any last minute adjustments!
We’ll be holding registration/check-in from 9-9:30, and shooting from 10 sharp, so make sure you’re in good time to get those chats in before we head out!
No prize giving, we’ll be giving out certificates as you leave, so you don’t have to stick around and wait for the slow pokes to make there way back! However, we will have a prize for anyone who manages to hit the X on the 100yd shot – or the closest to it – so make sure to snap a photo of that one if you’re close!
Same as always folks, there’s no camping at the woods, so you’ll have to make other arrangements if you’re looking to stay the night. However, we have recently gotten the parking area re-gravelled, so there’s plenty of space for cars with a much lower risk of mud!
