UKIFAC 2027
UK & Ireland Field Archery Championships
3rd – 4th of July
Well folks, we’re finally doing it! Laois Archery are your hosts for UKIFAC 2027!
We are absolutely delighted to welcome archers from across Ireland and the UK to our little corner of the world, and we’re looking forward to pulling out all the stops to make this competition one to remember – hopefully for all the right reasons.
If this is your first time hearing about UKIFAC, or you’re just interested in learning what it’s about, the Irish Field Archery Federation (IFAF) have a nice breakdown here. However, to put it in the simplest terms, this is an annual outdoor field archery competition, held over two days, between archers from across Ireland and the United Kingdom. The location rotates between the five competing nations, but this is the first time it’s taking place in Laois (so we’re pretty excited).
The Courses
Our home woods is neatly divided between ash and spruce (and some old growth we won’t be making you hack through), with mostly level ground. We have plenty of experience with setting up fun and challenging courses though, so don’t let the lack of hills make you think this is going to be easy!
We’re setting up two full 28-target courses, and over the course of the event you’ll be shooting both.

The Schedule
We’ll let you know as soon as we have firm details worked out – make sure you’re following us and IFAF for updates and information!
Registration
You can register and pay for your place by tapping this little blue button here. Places will be awarded in the order the application is received, so make sure you don’t leave it too late. When all places are filled, we’ll create a reserve list, and let you know if anything comes up!
Registration isn’t open yet, but this link will work when we get to that point!
Accommodation
The Maldron Hotel in Portlaoise has kindly offered anyone looking to stay there between the 2nd and 5th of July a discount!
Phone to book your stay and quote UKIFAC 2027 to get 10% off their best available rate.
There’s plenty of accommodation in Laois and the surrounding areas to suit all budgets. Laois is not that big, and Portlaoise is almost dead centre, so anything in or near the county will be a very doable drive.
The button below links to a list of accomodations compiled by Laois Tourism – anything in here is close. If you’re struggling to find something, our surrounding counties are Offaly, Kildare, Kilkenny, Carlow, and Tipperary – just make sure you’re on the Laois side of those counties!
Other Things To Do
There’s plenty of things to do in Laois if you find yourself needing to kill time when we’re not shooting! Walking the Glenbarrow trail in the Slieve Bloom Mountains and visiting the Rock of Dunamase are two of my personal favourite things to do if the weather is fine, so if you get a chance, I’d definitely recommend them (psst – they’re both free).
Outside of that, there’s lots more to be found if you click the button below, so there’s no possible way you could be bored!
